After being very content with Viewbook’s website design for over a year I think I became bored of it. Ironically it’s simplicity that attracted me to it in the first place consequently led me to change it. Viewbook offered a very clean and uncluttered interface. Images were easily uploaded and compatible with viewing on hand held devices.
Then along came Squarespace 6! It’s only been launched for a few days but I was converted to it by the many more options it has. Like Viewbook, Squarespace users can commit to monthly contracts, meaning that if you change your mind you can cancel within a month. With Squarespace it is so easy to customise the look of your web pages and there is also a facility to create a blog, something which Viewbook lacked. Viewbook are in the process of developing a V3 of their portfolio so who knows in the future I might return there. But for now it’s Squarespace all the way!
