Exercise 6: Highlight clipping

Task: Find a scene which has a wide range of brightness.

  1. Find the exposure setting at which the highlight clipping warning just appears.
  2. Make a note of the aperture and shutter speed.
  3. Next, increase the exposure for a second shot by one f/stop, adjusting either the aperture or the shutter speed.
  4. Take 3 more shots in which you decrease the exposure each time by one f/stop.

(Should have 5 frames, each separated by 1 f/stop).
